i totally disagree. 1st off, some people dont realize theres a difference BETWEEN “hip-hop” and “rap”. just because ‘gangsta’ rap is whats hot and played on radio’s, doesn’t mean hip-hop is dead……..what about common, kanye, lupe, and mos def….they’re tru hip-hop,(holdin it down)…..while wayne, 50, t-pain, and plies do (gangsta)rap…..they’re in 2 seperate categories….so stop sweatin’ ‘em. WHAT DO YALL THINK………..

can you blaim them tho???…they just look at the mainstream crap thats out now and say damn..wtf happend?? they need to look a little harder than turning on the tv or radio.

EDIT: i tottally disagree….every genre is getting worse..exspecally rock…alll this emo, wihnny, techno, tight pants wearin… bullshit..isnt rock..its bitc* as*sness

gangsta rap isn’t being played on the radio. That’s called pop rap. Gangsta rap hasn’t been played since the late 90s. The artists you just listed are not gangsta rappers, they are pop rappers.

You guys keep giving gangsta rap a bad name by associating it with pop rap. Gangsta rap is Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Mc Ren, Daz and Kurupt, 2Pac, Geto Boys, not that club rap they play on the radio now.

As for your question, they say it because mainstream rap has turned completely commercial. But there will always be hip hop artists who do it because they love it, not for the money, so hip hop can never truly die. Its not like you can get rid of the music that already exists.

First off I am a 28 year old metalhead.

With our differences in music styles you should just “know” what real music is.

There is so much fake Bull**** out now days.

Like what you like. Who gives a s*** what other people think.

Because it is. Hip-Hop was nothing but worthless crap. The music was a bad influence on young people. Most pathetic music I ever heard.

Rock music is coming back whether you all like it or not. And I’m talking about that EMO crap.

  9. Mr. Get Em Wetter Than A Pool says:

nas said it and his dickriders been using the phrase every chance they get, you can be talkin bout fried chicken and theres gonna be one nigga that comes and says “hip hop is dead” out of nowhere

  10. LinkIsSpartan says:

which rapper said “hip hop aint dead, it just took a couple of shots” in the one blood remix?

  11. Akoo says:

First of all Lil Wayne, T Pain and Plies isnt gangsta rap. Its wanksta rap. Plies is a fake, hes never been to jail. T Pain I dont need to explain. And Lil Wayne is a fake blood and everyone knows.

There is no difference is hip hop and rap. Rap is what they do and hip hop is the lifestyle. The lifestyle is dead. You got trash rappers like Plies, Lil Boosie, and Yung Berg rappin and are trash. All of a sudden rappers think it doesnt matter about lyrical skill and it all of a sudden matters about swagger. I can name 40 rappers(probably more) that are better than Lil Wayne.
