Is Hip-Hop really dead? 15

Pamela O asked:

Nas album titled Hip-Hop is dead, which i believe that hip-hop is really dead especially with every rapper out there copying off of one another by saying the same thing over and over, like being a thug or gangsta which their really not, talkin’ bout’ what they always got which we don’t care, what they do in the club over and over again, too much sex, drugs, violence, and makin’ songs that makes it feel like that we could’ve made that song too. The only thing that I like about rap today is the beats like “Pop Lock and Drop it”, “Don’t want drama” by 8Ball and MJG , and “Testin my Gangsta” by 3 6 Mafia, however those are only fewest songs you find on one album which makes me to just wanna buy an iPOD instead of just buyin’ one album for 1, 2, or 3 if you’re lucky.

Hip Hop has died. Gosh I am so sick of the I got money and ho’s thing blah blah blah. It makes me sick that young people are listening and watching this crapppp all the time. Hip Hop has no substance but substance abuse. Besides 3 6, everyone else is basically a 1 or 2 hitter and then theyre gone. After one ho’s and money album how many more? Then we got these 50 year olds still rapping about the same thing they did when they were 21 . . . . . huh.

nope it never died or went away. what yu listen to is rap. find hip hop. those who really want it get it, those who dont get what the media pushes to them. hip hop lives in the corners where oppression pushes them to. it lives in the souls of those that breathe revolution and sing for justice. it lives in the underground. find it, its there trust me. im sure you’ve heard of immortal technique, thats a good start. so go.

I hate when people say Hip-Hop is dead saying its repetative (If thats how u spell it). Come on hip hops been around for like 30 years? Of course its going to be repetative because people like you wouldnt listen to a rapper from lets say laguna beach rap about his life. Everyone wants to hear about gangsters!

THINK ABOUT IT! If a song that you guys think is pretty much the same thing as every other song came out 10 years ago you guys would all be thinking “wow this song is really original and cool”

I do beelive alot of rappers these days are lieng and just plain suck while others are great. Not trying to say the south is crap but alot of what i see from them sucks…a lot of annoying songs that wouldnt be as popular if they didnt have good beats and they have no lyrical talent. I do have alot of rappers i like from the south though! T.I. is my fav!

rap is definitely getting worse, I am tired of listening to gangstas, money and ho’s. some songs have like same beat. I stopped listening to all those garbage, and started to listen to people like nas, papoose, immortal technique, and all the old school raps, Old raps are definitely better than new ones.
